9 Sep - 15 Sep

We had a wonderful week this week.

On Tuesday we were able to Facetime with our family and witness the setting apart of our grandson.  He leaves on Wednesday to the MTC - Los Angeles Mission. We took a picture of our screen.  So Derek (in suit), his brother Ryland and niece, Elysia.

We wish him well.

Our English class was super fun.  We only had about 12 people there because Thursday started the Korean Chuseok holiday.  It is their Thanksgiving.  All the families get together and have rice cakes and other foods.

We had Zone Conference on Thursday.  There was a good discussion on Christlike Attitudes.  Then we played some Korean games in the afternoon.

This is our zone.  The Busan Zone is the largest.  Good group of missionaries!  We love them all!

This is called Yootnolyi.  You carry a block of wood on your foot, shoulder and head to the end of the room and then try to knock over another block of wood that is resting on the ground.  Very fun!

The next game is called Jegi chagi.  This is just like Hackie Sack.

This is Elder Seung.  He got 8 hits.

Then we played a game called Gongi noli.  You placed 5 dice in the palm of your hand. Tossed them in the air and caught as many as you could on the back of your hand.  And then tossed them in the air again and caught as many as you could in your hand.  The Koreans could do it very well.  Americans only caught one  or two at the most.

So because of the holiday, the President invited us all over for dinner on Thursday.  It was actually very good.  Small pieces of beef, breaded shrimp, salad, rice, fruit and cookies.  The President played his guitar for us, the Assistants sang and Elder Clark played the piano.  Very nice evening.

Elder Kearl and Elder Oh

Elder Seung sang along with the President's son, Jae.

The President told us we didn't need to go into the office on Friday, so we went for a walk.  We found some interesting things.

We started to hike up in the mountains, but decided not to go too far.

Always so many stairs!!!!!

I really wanted to ring this bell and bang the gong!

They have such beautiful artwork!

Set back in the wall.

We had another Elder that needed to go home early.  So Saturday, we had to come into the office and get all of his paperwork done for the President.  Elder Hunter had to fly with him.  So they left Sunday night for the Philippines.  It is really sad to see these young men and women go home early.  We pray the Lord will make everything good for them.

So that was our week.
We love you and miss you all.
