18 Nov - 24 Nov

Can't believe how fast these weeks are going by.  It's transfers already.  We will be getting 5 Elders from the MTC.  4 Americans and 1 Korean.

I made up all the packets for the incoming missionaries.  Will have to wait and see who their trainers are and where they will be living.  All the Foreign missionaries have to change addresses when they move.  It's a pain, but usually is done without any headaches.

So the American missionaries going home this transfer left on Friday morning early, so we didn't get to see them off.  And the Koreans will leave Monday morning (25th) at 7:00 am.

Wayne went to the dentist on Thursday and they put in his crown, but the dentist didn't like the way it fit, so they took it out and put back the temporary one.  He has another appointment on Thursday (28th).  So while you are enjoying a Thanksgiving dinner, please think of us.

Friday night we went out to Outback Steakhouse to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary.  Kind of anti-climatic, but we are together.  And this is what they had in the lobby.

Also, we held our last district meeting with this group of missionaries.
In the back - Elders Oh, Gatherum, Seung, and Kearl
Front:  Sisters Urbano and Kang, me and Wayne, and Sisters Sung and Ibera.
So Sisters Urbano and Kang both left our district for transfers.  And Elder Seung is going to Daegu as a new Zone Leader.

Elder Kearl and Gatherum goofing around!

Wayne, Elder Gatherum, and Elder Kearl.  Thinking they are cute.

I gave a talk on Sunday.  I talked about the Church of Jesus Christ being the only true church.  Only had to talk for about 5 minutes.  So with the translation, I prepared a 3 minute talk.  Can't say very much in that amount of time, but I hope they understood what I was trying to say.

We had our office meeting on Sunday night and there were a lot of extra people.
People coming and going!  And we are getting a lot of packages for Christmas.

Well, hope everyone is well.
We love you and miss you all.

11 Nov - 17 Nov

The leaves are finally changing here.  These are the trees right down from our apartment.  Not as pretty as Utah, but still some color.

Notice the cars?  They are all black, white or gray.  No one drives any other color.  Oh maybe a dark blue one now and then, but that's it.

We had another little situation between two missionaries.  They just didn't get along.  So the Korean decided to go home.  He bought a ticket for the train and left his American companion.  They were able to find him and bring him back to his apartment, but he will be going home this coming Friday.   I think it's easy for the Koreans to decide to go home, because they are no more than 3 hours from home.  It is really sad to see them go, though.   We had a Sister go home on Friday.  She's been here a year and just decided she wanted to go to school instead of being out here.

Sisters Motto, Yang Yeojin and McMillan

Sister Yang went home.  Her parents came to pick her up.

Elder Seong got in my way, but standing in the back is President Jeong, Sister Kim, Sister Yang, Sister Hong (mother) and Brother Yang (father).
We wish her well!

On Thursday, Wayne and I had just finished eating lunch.  I came out from his room to my desk and I heard a OH NO! from his room.  His front tooth broke in half.  the front half fell out of his mouth.

So he grabbed the Office Elders and they went to the dentist.  You don't need an appointment here.  He will be getting a crown next Thursday.  Pretty, Huh?!?!
So now Wayne has an international mouth.  He has had a crown put in his mouth from all three continents we have been on for missions.  Plus America.

Wayne and I went over to the other Senior Couple's apartment to start cooking the hamburger for sloppy joes.  We actually decided to make the batch up and freeze it.  So we have one thing done for the District Leader's meeting on the 28th of this month.  I decided to make a macaroni salad also.  This will keep us busy for a few nights, anyway.  No time for Thanksgiving here.  Oh well!

Anyway, it's been a good week.  Beautiful weather.

We love you and miss you all.

4 Nov - 10 Nov

On Tuesday, Sister Borromeo went home to the Philippines.  She flew from here, Busan to Manila landing about 11:00 pm.  Her next flight out wasn't until 8:35 the next morning.  She lives somewhere in the southern islands of the Philippines and there is only one flight per day.  She was a good sport about it, but that is a long time to wait all by yourself.
Here is her picture.  We didn't get to take a new one.

Jeanet Borromeo

She was a very good missionary and we will miss her.

President and Sister Kim were gone all week to their Mission President Seminar.  We got a call from one of the Elder's uncle.  He was very demanding in wanting to speak to the President.  The Elder's family is going through some rough times and between his mom and uncle, they will be the cause of him going home, if he does.  I really just wanted to tell them to leave him alone and let him be a missionary.  Kid's parents, gee!!!!

Anyway, besides that it was a very quiet week.  Our second oldest son, Jeremy, turned 48 on Sunday.  Can't believe how old all of our children are getting and we are not aging a single bit!😉

The weather is still beautiful so we decided to walk on Saturday.  We walked for about 6.5 miles.  Found a new grocery store, but it is too far to do our weekly shopping.  But, I did like some things in there.  So we may go again for small things.  It was called EMart.  Probably stands for European Mart.  But it was big and very crowded.

Well, that's it for this week.
We love you all and miss you.
