21 Oct - 27 Oct

It was our Mission Tour this week.  Elder Wada from the Area Presidency talked with us.  It was awesome.  Elder Wada spoke in General conference in April this year. Anyway he talked a lot about how we as missionaries can break down the Book of Mormon for the people that see and read it for the first time.  He went from 1 Nephi 1:1 through 1:7.  It was very enlightening.  For instance. he had four missionaries role play as 2 missionaries presenting a lesson to some investigators and had them start reading the first verse.  He stopped them after "I, Nephi having been born of goodly parents", and had the teaching missionaries have the investigators talk about their parents.  Relating everything to Nephi.

Sisters Park, Senah and Loo sang "If you could hie to Kolob and Come Thou Fount" medley.  It was beautiful.

Break time.

We also had missionary mission tours in Changwon and Daegu, so the Assistants and Office Elders went to all of them.  Wayne and I were alone in the office and it really gets lonely.  We love it here!!!

On Saturday we took the subway and went to the end of the line to a city called Wopo.  There were about 6 golf shops on the one side of the street when we left the train. And when we looked on Google maps we saw why.  There are three big golf courses within blocks of the subway station.

It has been up in the high 60's and low 70's so far.  We will see what happens next week.  Our weather app says it's going to be in the 40's in the morning and low 60's during the day.

So we had a small earthquake last night.  It was about 40 miles from here and was a 3.9 scale.  We didn't feel anything, but kind of weird and makes us start to think of what could happen.

So that is all for this week.
We love you and miss you all.

14 Oct - 20 Oct

Another crazy week.  Transfers are always fun.  Not only do we meet the new missionaries, but we get to see new District Leaders, new STLs and new Zone Leaders.  We had four new Sisters and two Elders come on Wednesday.  They always look so tired but do a good job of staying awake and learning about their life for the next 18 months or 2 years.
Departing missionaries:  Elders Reiley, Lee, Joe and Gil and Sisters Carroll, Thomas and Chang.

New Missionary - Elder Song

Elder Haggard

Sister Kang

Sisters Bedwell, Markland and Nelson.

It's fun to watch them interact with their trainer.  Here is Sister Fletcher and Sister Bedwell.

Sister Nelson meeting her trainer Sister Greenhalgh.

It is a busy day for them and exciting.  Before they leave for their area they get to do a mini-proselyting exercise here in Oncheon.  Most of them are afraid to open their mouths, but it is a good experience for them.

It's been in the lower 70's all this week.  I don't know when winter will come, but we hope it isn't too cold.

Hope you have a good week.
We love you and miss you all.

7 Oct - 13 Oct

I forgot to include last week.  A father of one of our missionaries passed away on the 30th of September.  So Elder Dunn decided to go home and be with his family.  We are hoping he comes back in a couple of months.  And Elder Seung, who was here temporarily because he couldn't get a visa left to go to MTC.  So the both of them left on Tuesday.

We had our last District Meeting on Wednesday.  Some of them will be transferred to other parts of the mission.  It is also a holiday.  They celebrate the beginning of the Korean language.  Once again, everyone will be off of work.
Sisters Harrison and Tueller

Sisters Urbano and Sung Yuri.

Elders Seung, Clark and Oh.

Elder Clark teaching.

So here we are.  Everyone wore floral, but I didn't have anything like that.
Sisters - me, Harrison, Sung, Tueller, and Urbano.
Elders - Wayne, Kearl, Clark, Oh, Seung.

We also learned that the Area Medical Doctor is sending Elder and Sister Hunter home.  She is not getting better.  So we had a dinner for their last night here.  We will miss them.

This is up on the roof of the mission home.  President and Elder Seung were cooking.

Elder Clark and Kearl

Assistants, Elder and Sister Hunter, and Office Elders.

We went over to the Hunter's apartment on Friday to clean it out and get most of the food that they had left.  It was like shopping at a grocery store.  She even had a turkey in the freezer - so guess what we are going to have for Thankgiving!

That's all this week.
We love you and miss you.

30 Sep - 6 Oct

It was a quiet week this week in the office, but we did hear on Friday that Elder and Sister Hunter will be going home.  It will be hard to let them go.  They have been a couple of life savers for us.  And we also found out that the Military Couple that was coming in January will not be coming either.  It's is very hard to be here without someone to talk to and laugh with.  I think the next 9 months are going to be difficult but doable.

Conference was awesome.  We got up very early on Sunday to listen to Saturday's sessions.  We
haven't listened to Sunday's sessions yet.  We will probably stay home next Sunday from church (because they will be listening to Conference in Korean) and listen to Sunday's conference.  Some really exciting news.  A temple in OREM????  WOW!!!!

No pictures this week.  We did have another typhoon.  The wind was blowing about 50-60 MPH when it reached Busan.  So not real bad, but the rain is horrendous.  We had multiple alerts on our Korean phone about flooding and the wind.

On Monday, the Elders and Sisters from the Busan Zone came in for interviews.  It gets to be quite noisy and very happy in the office.  I brought tons of candy for everyone.  They love it.

So in English, we played a game where they had to come up with names of countries, flower, animal, and fruit for the word LOVE.  They really worked hard and most of them used their phones to find the answers, but it was fun.  See below.
So I had to tell them the country.  There is only one in the whole world that starts with an "O" and that is Oman.

So that's all for this week.

We love you and miss you all.
